The Home Place

The Home Place is a residential facility that provides a stable, healthy environment and intensive case management services for individuals who are homeless with limited income who are living with HIV/AIDS. Located in a convenient part of Chattanooga, the Home Place is close to hospitals and doctors’ offices, and is on the bus line to allow clients to be as independent as possible within a safe and home-like environment.

The Home Place offers seven fully furnished efficiency style apartments, with private baths that feature all the necessary items for comfortable living. Common areas of the home include a kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry facilities, deck, yard, and cookout area.

All residents have an undetectable viral load after 6 months at The Home Place.

Since 1997, the Home Place has been providing a supportive and compassionate environment for at-risk and/or homeless people with a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS. As with all Catholic Charities programs, the Home Place relies on private contributions to help meet the needs of its clients and the considerable cost of operating a residential program. Volunteers play a vital role in providing family style meals for the residents. Meals may be prepared on site, with help and interaction from the clients, or dropped off. Protein shakes and pre-packaged nutritional snacks are always accepted.
