A residential facility, The Home Place provides a stable, healthy environment and case management services for individuals with limited income who are living with HIV/AIDS.
A Place to Call Home
Since 1997, the Home Place has been providing a supportive and compassionate environment for at-risk and/or homeless people with a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS. Located in a convenient part of Chattanooga, the Home Place is close to hospitals and doctors’ offices, and is on the bus line to allow clients to be as independent as possible within a safe and home-like environment . The Home Place offers seven fully furnished efficiency style apartments, with private baths that feature all the necessary items for comfortable living. Common areas of the home include a kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry facilities, deck, yard and cook-out area.
The Greatest Need
As with all Catholic Charities programs, the Home Place relies on private contributions to help meet the needs of its clients and the considerable cost of operating a residential program. Additionally, volunteers play a vital role in providing family style meals for the residents. Meals may be prepared on site, with help and interaction from the clients, or dropped off. Protein shakes and pre-packaged nutritional snacks are always accepted.
